Questions directors ask
What does it cost?
Nothing, for your school or for families. If a family later chooses an evaluation or therapy, that is billed to their insurance, including Medicaid, and we explain any cost to them first.
Is a screening a diagnosis?
No. It is a quick check that sorts “on track” from “worth a closer look.” Only a full evaluation can diagnose a delay, and that is always the parent’s decision.
What do you need from us?
A morning, a quiet space with a small table, and our sign-up link shared with your parents. We write the note for you and handle consent.
Will we see the results?
With the parent’s permission, yes, so your teachers can support the child in the classroom. Without it, results stay with the family. Either way we can tell you how the day went overall.
Will families feel pressured?
No. Parents hear what we saw and what their options are, including their pediatrician, early intervention, and the school district. Origin is one option.
We already work with early intervention or the school district. Does this overlap?
It complements them. Many children with a real but milder need do not qualify for public programs, and those are families we can often help quickly.
